Masters of War

June 10, 2008. Vienna, Austria.

Bob playing the keyboard.

Shelter from the Storm, with T-Bone Burnett.

This is a very cool version of "Shelter from the storm."

May 23, 1976, Fort Collins, Colo.

That's T-Bone Burnett on the slide guitar.

Bob is playing some crazy white guitar I've never seen before. It's a National guitar, in the shape of the continental United States.

Dancing in the dark? Yes, it's true.

This isn't much in the way of a video, and the sound really stinks. But come on! Did you ever expect to hear Dylan singing Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing in the dark?"

It's one of my least favorite songs by the Boss. Dylan's version is much less cheesy.

Lay, Lady Lay

From the 1976 Hard Rain concert.

One too many mornings, with Johnny Cash

Nice studio video.

Bob's chewing gum.

Shake, Rattle and Roll, with Keith Richards

Looks like this is from Japan, about 1991.

Lucky Old Sun, with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

Nice one with the Heartbreakers as his band. Great gospel backing vocals.

What can I do for you?

This concert from 1980 featured this song from Dylan's "Saved" album, which came out during his Christian phase.

Love the gospel backup singing.

Pancho & Lefty at Willie Nelson's 60th birthday bash

Well, Bob's voice doesn't quite match up to Merle Haggard for this song, but it's still neat to see and hear. The song was penned by the late great Townes Van Zandt (who some have called a writer as brilliant as Dylan. Not quite, in my opinion, but close.)

From Willie Nelson's 60th birthday bash.

Someday Baby

Some youtuber named Jokermanberlin put together this awesome unauthorized video to Someday Baby. Excellent editing, with scenes pulled from an iTunes ad, 60 minutes, Masked & Anonymous and other sources.

Deportee, with Joan Baez

This is from the 1976 Rolling Thunder Review tour. Fort Collins, Colorado, May 23, 1976.

The song is a Woody Guthrie tune called Deportee, a.k.a., Plane Wreck at Los Gatos.

Bob Dylan sells out to Victoria's Secret - Thank you, Bob. You are a man of principle.

Short, sweet and a visual treat.

Sick of Love is the song.

Like a Rolling Stone - star-studded cast

Recorded at the 1988 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame event at the Waldorf Astoria. Tons of other players onstage including Mick Jagger, Bruce Springsteen, John Fogerty... Even Paul Shaffer playing a cheesy 80s synthtar.

Check out Bob playing a Gibson SG. You don't see that too often!

Highway 61, with The Band

Shot at the Isle of Wight Festival, August 31, 1969.

Rough video quality but nice up-close images.

Listen to the organ solo. And oh how Robbie wails some sweet licks.

Girl from the North Country, with Johnny Cash

Great seeing these two legends together. This was shot in 1969 during the first episode of Johnny Cash's TV show.

The audio doesn't totally seem to match the video, but I don't think this is a lip-sync. I think it's just the formatting.

Jokerman

Live on the David Letterman show.

Can't tell if that is Keith Richards on the telecaster. Dude at least dresses like Keith.

Dig Bob's skinny 80s tie.

Bob grabs the wrong harp at first. Unplanned moments in television

Simple Twist of Fate

From "the world of john hammond"
September 10, 1975

Shooting Star

Live from 1997. Love Bob's white tux. His voice sounds pretty good here too.

The Man in Me

Probably from 2000. Excellent solos by Larry on pedal steel and Bob on the strat

Video medley - live from Demmark 1966 with The Band

Copenhagen, Denmark, 1966
The sound is kind of muffled and the edits are rough.

1.Tell Me, Momma
2.Baby Let Me Follow You Down (Eric von Schmidt on drums)
3.Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues
4.One Too Many Mornings
5.Ballad Of A Thin Man

Boots of Spanish Leather

Amateur video from a concert in Liverpool, England, July 12, 2001.

What a great mellow sound achieved here.

Tomorrow is a Long Time, with the Grateful Dead

Fuzzy video, but captures a collaborative period in 1987.

Great seeing/hearing Jerry Garcia play the pedal steel guitar.

Visions of Johanna

Awesome lyrics and delivery.

An excerpt from the No Direction Home video.

All Along the Watchtower

This acoustic version of the song - Bob on guitar and harp - is short and sweet.

Also sweet is the fact that someone put it to a video composed of a drawing by Giovanni Rabuffetti, who obviously was inspired by the song.

Just a bunch of big names, fartin around on My Back Pages

In this practice session for Bob Dylan's 30th anniversary concert, you will find a few notable recording artists. Oh, just a few.

Eric Clapton
George Harrison
Neil Young
Roger McGuinn
Tom Petty
GE Smith
Eddie Vedder
Booker T

Vocals aren't that great. But, hey, it's just a rehearsal.

If not for you, featuring George Harrison

Another great one from 1971. This is an outtake from the Concert for Bangladesh at Madison Square Garden.

George Harrison getting big sound from his jumbo guitar.

Blowing in the Wind

From Madison Square Garden. 1971.

The Concert for Bangladesh.

Forever Young

Some of Bob's best, most hopeful lyrics of all time in this song.

Performed on the David Letterman show, November 18, 1993.

Masters of War

Nice mashup.

Powerful images. Love the ending.

Like a Rolling Stone

Great tune. I never get tired of it, and he's done it so many different ways.

From the unreleased Hard Rain concert video.

One too many mornings

What a great period in Bob's long timeline of awesomeness.

You don't see him play a telecaster very often.

Isis

This is from April 22, 1976.

Clearwater, Fla.

The Hurricane

This is the story of the Hurricane ...

I have no idea where this video came from.

License to Kill, with Mark Knopfler

This song, from 1983's "Infidels," features Mark Knopfler.

Love seeing Bob play a Strat.
